Aries Venus and Aries Venus compatibility, or Venus in Aries and Venus in Aries compatibility, puts two people’s love styles in the same sign. That sign is a hard one for Venus. Aries sits opposite Libra, one of Venus’s two homes. So in the old books, Venus in Aries is in exile, and here both partners have it.
There is a second twist. Venus never strays far from the Sun. So a Venus in Aries belongs to a person whose Sun is in one of only five signs. Most of those people were born with the Sun in Taurus or Pisces, not in Aries. This page explains both facts, how rare the pair is, and how close two Aries Venuses really sit.

A Venus sign in plain words
Your Venus sign is the part of the sky Venus stood in when you were born. Astrologers read it as your style in love and pleasure. It shows what you find attractive, how you flirt, and how you like to be cared for. It is not the whole of a person. The Sun, the Moon, and the rest of the chart all count.

Two Venuses in exile
Tradition gives each planet special signs. The home is where the planet rules. The exaltation is where it is an honored guest. The exile sits opposite the home, and the fall sits opposite the exaltation.
Venus has two homes, Taurus and Libra. Its exaltation is Pisces. So its exiles are Scorpio and Aries, and its fall is Virgo. William Lilly lists Venus in its detriment, another word for exile, in Aries in his Christian Astrology of 1647.
Exile is not a verdict on a person. It is like living in a house built for someone else. The rules of the house are not yours. Venus likes to charm, wait, and weigh. Only 6 of the 78 Venus pairs put both Venuses in a hard seat. This is one of them. Read as a symbol, both partners know the same tension between wanting closeness and wanting a chase.
Both Venuses answer to Mars
When a planet sits in a sign, astrologers look to the planet that rules that sign. They call it the dispositor, the host who takes the guest in. Mars rules Aries. So both Venuses hand their love style to Mars, the planet of heat, courage, and conflict.
That is a shared host. Two people who feel desire the same way can read each other fast. Both like a clear yes. Both get bored by games that drag on. Both can say “I want you” without a long lead-up.

Aries holds one more honor. Ptolemy puts the Sun’s exaltation in Aries. So the sign where Venus struggles is also the sign where the Sun shines brightest. Read as a symbol, this pair loves in the open. Neither one hides a crush for long.
Five possible Sun signs, and Aries is only third
Venus orbits closer to the Sun than Earth does. Seen from Earth, it never gets more than about 47 degrees away from the Sun. So a person with Venus in Aries has the Sun in Aries or in one of the two signs on either side. Here is who has Venus in Aries.

So fewer than one Aries Venus in four belongs to an Aries Sun. The neighbors win. That matters for a couple. Two Aries Venuses rarely mean two Aries Suns.
The table also splits into two groups. With the Sun in Taurus or Gemini, Venus sits in an earlier sign than the Sun. Venus then rises before the Sun, as a morning star. That covers 38.81 percent of Aries Venuses. With the Sun in Pisces or Aquarius, Venus sits in a later sign. Venus then sets after the Sun, as an evening star. That covers 37.6 percent. The last 23.6 percent share the Sun’s sign, and could be either.
Some traditions read a morning Venus as bolder and an evening Venus as softer. Take that as a symbol too. But it gives two Aries Venuses one more thing to compare: which side of the Sun each was born on.
Which Sun signs does the couple have?
The single most likely Sun combo for this pair is a Taurus Sun with a Taurus Sun. Yet only 8.94 percent of these couples have it. That is a lean, not a rule. Most couples are some other mix.
A second number is more useful. 41.63 percent of these couples include at least one partner whose Venus and Sun are both in Aries. Only 5.57 percent have both partners like that. So in most couples, at least one partner’s Aries Venus sits beside a Sun in a quite different sign. A Taurus Sun with an Aries Venus loves fast but lives slow. A Pisces Sun with an Aries Venus is soft by day and bold in love.

How close are the two Venuses?
A conjunction by sign is not always a conjunction by degree. A Venus at 1 degree of Aries and a Venus at 29 degrees of Aries share a sign. Yet they are 28 degrees apart. Astrologers allow some slack around an exact angle, called an orb. Here is the share of couples whose two Venuses fall within it.

So even with an 8 degree orb, fewer than half of these couples have a true conjunction. For the rest, the two love styles share a sign and a host, but not a degree. We used the real spread of Venus across each degree of Aries, not a flat guess.
What the pair asks of each other
Fire and fire, cardinal and cardinal. Both signs start things. Both Venuses like the first move, the new plan, and the fresh spark. That gives the couple speed. It can also leave both waiting for the other to handle what comes after the start.
Here are four habits that fit the symbols.
- Take turns making the first move, so neither one keeps score.
- Name a truce word for fights that turn into contests.
- Plan something new together on a regular basis. Both Venuses feed on a fresh start.

How common is an Aries Venus couple?
Venus does not spend the same time in each sign. From 1600 to 2400, it spent 8.288 percent of the time in Aries. That puts Aries 8th of the 12 signs. Cancer leads at 8.62 percent, and Capricorn is last at 8.04 percent.
A same-sign couple needs both partners in that sign. For Aries, that is 0.687 percent of random couples, about 1 couple in 146. It ranks 74th of the 78 Venus pairs. Only four pairs are rarer, and all of them are also same-sign pairs.
How we measured
We used two routes that share no code and no star tables. Route one used the Astronomy Engine library. It found every sign change of Venus and the Sun from 1600 to 2400, each to a tenth of a second. It then summed the time, interval by interval. The degree spread came from a check every hour.
Route two used the Swiss Ephemeris. It read the signs every hour over the same span, on a grid set half an hour apart from route one. That makes over seven million points. Neither route drew random numbers. On every Venus figure here, the two routes agree within 0.01 points. The order of the 12 Venus signs is the same in both. All values use the tropical zodiac, seen from Earth.
What the research says
The largest test of sign matches used the 2001 census of England and Wales. The sociologist David Voas checked 10.3 million married couples. He found no effect of Sun signs on who married whom. A small excess of same-sign couples came from errors in data entry. His paper, “Ten million marriages”, came out in 2007. It covered Sun signs. No test of that size exists for Venus signs.
So the exile is not a warning, and the shared host is not a promise. They are symbols. Two Aries Venuses share a direct, eager way of loving. The symbols point to where that speed helps, and to where two starters need someone to finish.
